Darrell T. Johnson, Jr.

Darrell Thomas Johnson, Jr, known as Tom, founded the firm in 1975, becoming
the first actively practicing lawyer in Hardeeville. He practiced all areas of law, as was
the custom at the time. He was soon after appointed as the Attorney for the Town of
Hardeeville, which was a very part-time position that he held for many years. One of his
first cases, which was an eardrum injury from a telephone, led to many more product
liability cases over the years.
As the years passed, Tom earned the respect of the Jasper County Community
and the Lowcountry legal community, to include areas of Georgia. As the practice grew,
Tom added associates to enable him to focus more on injury cases. The firm has
remained small, consistent with his saying “Eagles don’t flock.” He finds it amusing
when someone advertises that they are “big enough to take on…”, because his firm
routinely litigates with the United States Department of Energy, the State of Georgia,
Ford Motor Company, Chrysler, Nissan and other entities.

Tom has participated in the Lowcountry community in many capacities,
serving in such ways as being the attorney for Hardeeville, Bluffton, Ridgeland and
Jasper County. He has also held positions on many boards and commissions, including
Beaufort Jasper Higher Education Commission, Election Commission, Jasper County
Board of Disabilities and Special Needs, South Carolina Architects Licensing Board and
others. Although not a politician, he was a County Councilman for two terms and
Chairman for two years.
Tom is actively practicing and says he hopes to die in circumstances requiring a
mistrial.

Warren Johnson is a native of Hardeeville, S.C. After graduation from the University of South Carolina in 2000, he attended the University of South Carolina School of Law. Warren received his law degree and decided to return to Hardeeville to join his father’s firm in 2003. Warren handles general litigation but his primary focus is personal injury and workers’ compensation cases. In addition, Warren has been actively involved in helping injured workers from the Savannah River Site seek benefits under the EEOICPA and South Carolina Workers’ Compensation Act since 2011. His firm, along with attorney Bob Warren of Asheville, NC, has spent thousands of hours helping workers with devastating health conditions resulting from their work around toxic and/or radioactive materials seek compensation and medical care.

Warren is married to Kristen Cook Johnson and is the proud father of twin daughters, Madeline and Amelia Johnson. He is the Town Attorney for the Town of Ridgeland, former member of the Jasper County Board of Elections and Voter Registration, former Vice Chairman of the Jasper County Board of Disabilities and Special Needs, former member of the Board of Governors for the Coastal Carolina Hospital in Hardeeville, and Magistrate Judge for Jasper County.
